Tracking Cyber Criminals and Terrorists - Looking for Hidden Clues on the Internet

Hacking is not only an activity of aficionados for amusement and bragging, but also an organized activity of groups scattered around the globe for financial gain and furthering political agendas.  The activities of these groups can be profiled and their location narrowed down to specific areas on the Internet.  Coupling what is known of hacker groups with information collected from the network can allow more precise attack detection and location determination.  An early-warning system can be developed that can analyze the network traces at the entry points of a network and detect the onset of attacks.  We will talk about a global intelligence network for tracking down these cyber criminals and terrorists.
