Reimbursement Opportunities for
New York State Employees
New York State and its public employee unions recognize the importance of continuous learning by providing assistance for tuition expenses. The New York State Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (GOER) has developed a number of tuition reimbursement programs that New York State employees can use for conferences like TCTC 2010.

PS&T Unit Tuition Assistance
The GOER and the Public Employees Federation continue their commitment to the ongoing professional development of the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services (PS&T) Unit workforce with the Public Service Training Programs. Under the Voucher Alternative (VALT) Program , employees are eligible for up to $600 in reimbursement for workshop and conference attendance.
Management/Confidential Tuition Reimbursement Program
As an incentive to pursue job-related or career-related education, the M/C Tuition Reimbursement Program provides financial support for approved educational activities on a reimbursement basis. M/C employees may undertake course work to improve skills required to perform present job assignments, to remain current with innovations and emerging trends in their field, to improve administrative and management skills, or to prepare for positions within State service that may be attained through promotional examination. Covered tuition expenses are reimbursed at the rate of 75 percent, up to a maximum annual fiscal year reimbursement of $2,000.
